Ja, sie gehören zum Khuddaka Nikāya des Sutta Pitaka. Da wird vielleicht auch nicht alles vom Buddha selber stammen.
Kanonisch, und damit Teil des Palikanon, sind nur die Jataka-Verse. Die Rahmenerzählung ist der klassische Kommentar (atthakatha). Und dies hier http://palikanon.com/khuddaka/jataka/j00.htm gehört zur Nidana-katha, was auch zum Jataka-Kontext gehört, aber nochmal etwas anderes ist. Und ist nicht Teil des Palikanon, wie auch der Kommentar nicht.
Ist aber auch im Theravada-Bereich nicht ganz so entscheidend. Sowohl die kanonischen Jataka-Verse, die Jataka-Rahmenerzählung als auch die Nidana-katha gehören zur theravadischen Weltanschaung, pali imaginaire.
